9.6.18 30 Days Wild #9 Ash to Ashes

(ENLGISH FOLLOWS)

Mae eleni wedi bod yn ofnadw o drist wrth sylweddoli cymaint o goed ynn sy’n diodde o Chalara (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus). Mi roedd y gwanwyn wedi creu tirlun gwahanol iawn wrth i’r nifer o goed sy’n diodde ac wedi dechrau marw trawsnewid cefn gwlad. Mae na bosibilrwydd y bydd pop coeden onnen wedi diflannu ymhen 10 mlynedd – sy’n gwneud y bwriad o’u mwynhau hyd yn oed yn bwysicach. Dyma beth yw trysor – ac mi fyddwn yn gweld eu heisiau’n fawr ar ôl iddynt fynd.

So, today I went around admiring some wonderful ash trees – and some ash trees who are unfortunately in the process of succumbing to Chalara (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus) or ash dieback. It is a horrific thought to think that there is a strong possibility that there won’t be a single surviving ash tree in the UK by 1928.

Even if it’s the only thing you do during 30 Days Wild, take some time to admire (and yes, even hug!) an Ash tree whilst you still can!
